Margaret (Meg) Metzger is a documentary editor with a decade of experience working in the documentary field. Her award-winning credits include shorts, features, and television, spanning vérité, hosted, and archival-driven projects.
Meg studied moral philosophy at Brown University and began her career in Athens, Greece. She worked in film and publishing in Athens, becoming fluent in the language, before moving to New York in 2012 to concentrate on documentary filmmaking. In 2015, she transitioned from research and production roles to editing. Meg was a participant in the inaugural class of the Karen Schmeer Foundation’s Diversity in the Edit Room program in 2018-2019, with mentors Mary Manhardt and Aljernon Tunsil. In January 2020, she was the Artist-in-Residence at the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville, NY.
She lives with her two daughters and spouse in Brooklyn, and keeps busy by making custom ceramic lighting.
